Letter To My Visitors:

First off I would like to thank a friend of mine Al Jong for designing and putting together this web site for me.


My name is Lore Shimamura and I was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. I decided to move to Seattle in 1994 to just have a change of pace and life experiences. Moving to the "mainland" on my own has been such an enlightening experience for me. I have been blessed with having good people in my life. Without them, I would not have been able to survive the challenging moments and enjoy the exciting ones.

I've been a hairstylist for 17 years. I started off working as an assistant while still attending beauty school. I was very lucky to have been exposed to very talented and successful hairdressers at an early start. They taught me how important it was to really take care of my clients and continue learning in this industry. My parents always told me no matter where my career takes me don't ever forget where you came from and always be humble. I always have that in the back of my mind till this day. I remember our duty's as an assistant was to clean the toilets and shampoo bowels daily, dust shelves, mop the floors, empty trash…boy did I hate doing all that. I thought what does this have to do with hair? I later realized it was about discipline, responsibility and customer service. I love what I do and can't imagine doing anything other than hair.

I enjoy hiking, music, movies and puttering around on my computer, which I frequently mess up. I also competed in bodybuilding for 2 years on both local and national levels.
