What makes the iStraight System different from other systems?
There are many different straightening systems presently available on the market. Most are silicone based that is known to cause damage to the hair in the long run. The iStraight System contains ceramide, which helps to keep moisture within the hair. This prevents further damage to the hair by helping the hair keep the moisture within. The ingredients in our system are of top quality for maximum performance and customer satisfaction.

What role does the flat iron have in altering the effects of the straightening process?
The flat iron serves two purposes in the process. In the normal process of permanent wave, ammonium thioglycolate and/or heat break disulfide bonds. After the hair has been processed with solution #1, there are some disulfides bonds still remaining in the hair. The high heat from the flat iron breaks up these disulfide bonds. In the natural curly hair, the outside cuticle is shaped to keep the curliness of the hair. This cuticle shape can be altered not chemically but physically only. The flat iron presses the outside cuticle and alters its shape to keep the hair straight

What types of hair are best suited for this straightening system?
The iStraight System solutions can be processed on any type of hair with the proper training, solution and processing time.

What types of hair are not recommended for this straightening system?
Absolutely not recommended on hair that has been treated with a sodium hydroxide relaxer. If the hair is severely damaged by bleach, color or other chemical services. Do not use this product unless you do a strand test first.
